Initial Compositions

Weta Cave

The words I used to describe Weta Cave were Fantastical, Intricate and Innovative. I chose these words because I think they perfectly convey the essence of what Weta Cave is all about. The character, props and sets they design are so incredibly intricate and full of detail and they are truly world class and leading the way in innovative visual effects and design for film. Finally I chose the word Fantastical because the place really does bring fantasy to life, anything you could possibly dream of they can create.


Embassy Theatre

The words I chose to describe the Embassy Theatre were Premiere, Luxurious and Grand. I chose these words because the Embassy is Wellington's Premiere cinema destination. It oozes Luxury, from the marble tiling in the lobbies to the Deluxe cinematic experience. I also chose the word Grand because the Embassy Theatres are huge in every way, and it boasts one of the largest screens in the Southern Hemisphere.


Film Archive

The words I chose to describe the Film Archive were Historic, Educational and Contemporary. I chose these words because the Archive is like a history museum of film. You educate yourself about everything from the Lord of the Rings films to the history of Shortland Street. I also chose the word Contemporary because the Film Archive has a very modern vibe and has integrated new technology into the way they connect with the public and display their content.



Combined Locations

After doing compositions for each location, I decided to try one with the combined locations. I chose the words Create, Enjoy and Preserve because I think that each word represents each of the locations perfectly. Weta Cave is a creative hub, the aim of the Embassy Theatre is for audiences to enjoy the cinema and the whole movie atmosphere, and the Film Archive is committed to the preservation of the film and media that everybody enjoys so much.


Moving forward I think I might continue to expand on this idea of Create, Enjoy, Preserve, as I think it could work as a good mantra for my brochure.
